NEW GALLERY !!!

Whilst Pilates, Yoga and Garuda is great for everyone, dancer or non-dancer.

It is especially relevant and helpful for dancers; young and professional alike.

Whilst the exercises serve similar objectives for everyone, the focus or goal could likely be different & more specific to their dance training goals and their practiced style; compared to non-dancers.

This gallery has been inspired by my young nieces, keen dancers studying ballet, jazz & acro. As well as my time teaching in Melbourne & Paris; teaching full time ballet students and professional dancers in esteemed schools and companies.

“AS A PROFESSIONAL DANCER, I’M FOREVER SEEKING WAYS TO FINE TUNE MY INSTRUMENT - MY BODY - AND INCREASE ITS CAPACITY FOR PHYSICAL EXPRESSION. THROUGH THE GARUDA METHOD, I’VE BEEN ABLE TO AWAKEN A NEW AWARENESS OF MY PHYSICALITY THAT I BELIEVE IS ONLY POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS UNIQUE METHOD. AIMEE IS A VERY ATTENTIVE TEACHER WITH A FANTASTIC UNDERSTANDING AND NOT AFRAID OF A CHALLENGE, WHICH IS SUPER IMPORTANT FOR ME. ”

— Juliet Burnett, Professional Dancer / Australian Ballet & Ballet Vlaanderen

My own Pilates journey began as an aspiring dancer, at the very young age of 12 years. It held me through full time, dance training; injury free. And more importantly; initiated my transition to teaching, both Pilates and Ballet.

It has sustained my passion for teaching movement, for 20 years.

This long journey I have had with movement conditioning & injury management, has been remarkably beneficial in my recent critical recovery and ongoing quest to rehabilitate my body and brain.

I have cherry-picked my top 10 classes - each serving a specific purpose and aim. Which I would love to share and elaborate with you.

If you are a dancer, dance educator, dance conditioning facilitator, parent of a young dancer; please reach out to discuss the reasoning and relevance of my selection. I’m sure you will also have your own interesting insights & requests - I would love to know.

These classes will be updated every month and new dance-specific classes will be added.

“AIMEE CHALLIES IS A TALENTED AND PASSIONATE TEACHER OF BOTH GARUDA AND PILATES. IT IS RARE TO FIND A TEACHER THAT IS ABLE TO CONNECT SO WELL WITH MANY DIFFERENT INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR DIFFERENT NEEDS, IN A COMPASSIONATE, CARING YET EFFICIENT MANNER. HER DEDICATION TO THE REHABILITATION AND WELL BEING OF CLIENTS IS UNQUESTIONABLE. HER BACKGROUND IN DANCE GIVES HER A NATURAL UNDERSTANDING OF POSTURE AND INJURY. SHE IS PROFESSIONAL IN HER MANNER AND KNOWLEDGEABLE IN HER EXPERIENCE, WITH A POISE AND GRACE ABOUT HER SELF THAT IS AN INSPIRATION IN THE STUDIO.”
