My inner dialogue had this word on repeat throughout this class…

And thus, this new workout is called, trust! 🙏🏽

I have a strong belief that that is what we are doing when we mindfully move our body. We are building trust in our body’s capability.

Just like any relationship, if we want it to embrace challenges and make positive progress, we have to build trust. This is no more apparent than our relationship with our body.

Trust in the body is built through experience. Variability and exploration. Each time we meet something challenging, demanding us to move through difficulty and embrace the uncomfortable, we discover that we can adapt. We build resilience, not only in our tissues, but in our minds.

Forming ‘cognitive data’ of experiences that become evidence. Evidence that the body can react, respond and reorganise in a reassuring way. Archiving a mental reservoir of confidence…

Thus over time… creating a deeper trust in our ability to meet challenges / recover from setbacks and keep moving forward.

Accepting the transient / changing nature of our physiology.

Building strength through the legs creates a stronger foundation of integrity beneath us. The legs become more capable of supporting the pelvis and holding the torso upright against gravity. Throughout the strengthening process, we build trust in our legs. A vital confidence that they can support us, respond quickly and when needed. A natural instinct to execute our functional activities, without needing to second guess or delay.

An intuitive sense of trust in our ability to meet challenge, recover and keep moving forward.
